Lo and nighmares/bad dreams

::the word nightmares always scared me as a kid, so I'll stick with bad dreams::

Is your LO having them? DD seems to be getting them more and more. I feel it's bad dreams because about an hour or so after she goes down at night, she starts wimpering...last night it went on and off for a few minutes and when I went in to check on her she was wrestleing around in her crib wimpering. I picked her up and she was still wrestleing around whining...it breaks my heart!

Anyone know what causes this? It may be a dumb question but, could tension between DH and I (not even verbalized in front of DD) be causing her heartache too? Confused

Re: Lo and nighmares/bad dreams

  • Our DS had a fall and later that night started screaming but wasn't awake. At a follow up appointment (after the ER with our pedi) we asked about this. It was odd because he would be really crying but would still be asleep and would calm down when her was picked up but he wouldn't wake up. Our pedi said that yes he can have bad dreams especially after a trauma. We would go in and comfort him, they have subsided completey.
