How do you break the no sleep/no nap cycle?

The night before last, DD slept GREAT - 9:30-4:45.  Then yesterday her naps sucked - they were all really short.  Last night she was up every 2 hours.  Now, today, it appears she is not going to nap again.  How do I break this cycle?  Do I let her nap on me if she falls asleep nursing (instead of transferring her to her crib like I usually do)?  Any other suggestions?

  • Do know it's a constantly changing routine.  Around that age I remember DD started teething which messed up all her cycles.  Also she switched from random naps to a pretty regulated 10:30 nap and a 2:30 nap and a set 7pm bedtime.  I followed her cues - as soon as she rubbed her eyes even a spec we would scoop her up, nurse or offer a bottle and put her down.

I probably would for at least one nap.  Hopefully one good nap will help get her back on track.  Though as the pp said, sleep is so up in the air for LO's that there's no guarantee and habits do change very quickly.
