I bought a Bravado nursing bra before having DS. I brought it with me to the hospital and it was such a good thing to have. I bought it a size bigger than I was while pregnant and it still fits (it was snug during the early engorgement days) but I recommend having one right away!
I bought a cheap Target sleep bra for when DS was first born. It was comfy and I felt a little put together.
After things settled down - I went and got some Pea in the Pod nursing bras.
It was a long time ago (or so it seems) - but I remember never taking my nursing bra off at first. 1) I needed something to keep the pads in place or I would be wet 2) It was uncomfortable to be "free flowing"
But this was just me. Definitely do not get anything with wires - whatever you choose to do.

I bought a stretchy cheap one from Walmart and was really glad I did. The first two weeks had enough on my plate than running out to buy a bra. I also purchased nursing camis before dd arrived and LOVED those.
I bought a nursing bra while I was still pregnant because my bust had grown. I'm still wearing it to nurse LO. I will say that it was just a tad big when I bought it, but wouldn't have wanted to buy a smaller size. I'm glad I had it!
I bought a couple Target nursing tanks and brought them to the hospital with me. I was so glad to have them so my stomach could be covered when feeding DS.

Before delivering DD, I bought a couple sized (S,M,L) nursing tanks and sleep bras to get me through the first couple weeks. Once my supply was established, I went for a fitting and bought appropriately sized bras. I really like the bravado seamless bodysilk, FWIW. Good luck!
Before delivery I bought a nursing bra and two nursing tanks. They were good to have because you do need SOMETHING to wear at the hospital or the first few days home. I did realize though what I liked and didn't like and at 5 days pp bought more nursing bras and those are good and I wear them all the time now (not what I bought before I had the baby).

I wore a nursing tank from Target in the hospital and the first few days.
I then went and got a Motherhood Maternity one (I went from a D to a F)
