Question: When to TTCAL?

Sorry if this has been asked over & over on here, but I'm wondering when you all were cleared for TTCAL?  We had a "run of the mill" missed m/c with subsequent D&C.  Initially, my OBGYN said to wait 2 normal cycles before TTC again.  Today, at my post-D&C f/u appointment, she said that the 2 cycle thing might be "old fashioned", so she looked it up & saw that there have been some recent studies that showed no significant increase in risk with TTC after only ONE normal cycle instead of two.  So she told us that, if we really want to & if everything goes really normally with my first cycle, we could TTC again sooner.I don't want to do ANYTHING to risk another m/c (with whatever control I even have over that), so I'll do whatever would be best for a successful pregnancy. How long were you ladies told to wait before TTCAL?Thank you for any input you can give, & H&H 9m to you all!!!

I'm sorry for your loss.  We were cleared to try after the first the cycle (I also had a D&C).  We ended up waiting and tried after my 2nd AF and got pregnant.  Good luck!

We were told to wait 1 cycle.  We waited the 1 cycle and then ended up getting pregnant that next cycle.  So far, this pregnancy has been perfect   Good luck to you in ttcal!  Hope to see you over here soon!

We were told to wait two cycles I think, although I wasn't feeling mentally ready until a few after that. Good luck to you!

We were told to wait 2 months.  It's probably good to wait for one cycle for dating purposes.  I feel it's mostly how ready you are mentally.  Good luck!

My doctor told us to wait one cycle after my D&C. Took about 6 wks to get first period post-D&C.

We started trying (per doctor's ok) after my first AF.

I was told 2-3 cycles, but it varies. I personally waited 7 months.

We waited for 2 cycles as my Dr recommended.  At first I thought that was not enough time, but as the 2nd month neared it felt like forever.  We ttc in the 3rd month post and got our bfp.  But to be honest I feel like there has been a shadow of my loss keeping me from enjoying and being truly happy for this pg instead of constantly worrying, which has only lifted since EDD has passed.  I'm sure it's not like that for everyone, it's just been my experience.

Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences.  

DH & I are going to have to think hard about this one.  We cannot wait to TTC again, but (God forbid) if worse comes to worse & something happens when we didn't wait an extra month, I know I'll blame myself.  

Guess we've got some time before making that decision.  In the meantime, bring on AF!
