my cousin had her baby today...

shes 37 weeks along and she had the baby today. 2 weeks ago the baby was measuring at 4 pounds and had actually lost weight. my cousin smokes (BIG NO NO IMO) and isn't actually capable of caring for a child. she cant even take care of herself. shes just my cousin by marriage.

sigh. that poor baby.

I was prepared to say congrats but ....thats really sad. I hope it works out for her, maybe now she will change?

I was in hospital for almost 3 weeks before my ds's birth and there was a woman who came in, smoked about 5-7 cigs a day (that was her cutting down) and had had NO prenantal care. She wasnt even sure how far along she was! She was about 30 weeks. I saw her everyday walking the halls to go out to the patio and smoke, while dragging her IV cart. So horrible.

(I know all that because we got admitted at the same time and in L&D the curtains seperate the admitting beds and you could hear everything. Her whole family was there while she was being admitted and they were all eating fast food and ice cream(???) and it was making me puke.....they were tons of fun!)

i cannot stand people who smoke while they are pregnant. i have no problems judging them. its very selfish of 'em. i quit the minute i found out i was pregnant. Rylens health is more important than anything else.
