Am I nursing enough?

LO has been STTN for a week or two now (yay) and as a result he's only eating 6x per day (feeding on demand). He seems totally content and is wetting/pooping appropriately, but I wonder if this is enough. I have a BF book that says babies who are fed less than 7x/day between 2-6 months may not gain weight appropriately and it may cause a drop in my supply.

FWIW, he also only eats from one side at a time and seems totally satisfied afterwards.

Any thoughts? Anyone nurse their baby less than 7x/day?

My DD eats 6-7 times per day and has for about 3 weeks. She had a dr. appt.; he says her weight gain is perfect. My supply hasn't been effected. Babies make up for what they don't eat during the night during other feedings during the day, either by eating more at a feeding or eating more often. Your breasts will accomidate baby. hth.
