Pregnant after a Loss

It's hard to get excited this time.

I am excited to be pregnant but it's weird this time around.

I think once I get to see/hear a heart beat and get passed the 7 week mark it will be different but right now, just weird.

Last time I could barely concentrate on breating I was so excited!

  • I think anyone who has had a loss feels this way. I'm still nervous on a daily basis

  • I remember that feeling. It's hard to get past... and it took a long time for me to feel 'connected' to the pregnancy and baby.

You'll get there though. Seeing that heartbeat will take about 50 lbs of pressure off! It's still nervewracking for a while, but that first u/s will give you such a relief!

    Congrast on the BFP!

  • I want to  be excited and am but then I remember how crushed we were last time.

I keep going to get labs every fews day until I hit the 8 week mark and the day after waiting for the phone call that my numbers are still high enough makes me nervous!

  • First of all, congrats!  I know the beginning is so nerve-wracking.  I wondered if I would ever get to enjoy the pregnancy, but for me it got easier with each passing milestone, and now that we are so close, we are ecstatic and just thrilled.  Hang in there.  The first tri will end and you will see your LO's heartbeat and all that stuff!

  • I know what you mean about not remembering to breathe due to excitement the first time.  It's only been a day since I got this BFP and I still keep forgetting that I'm even pregnant.  It's a shame that it's going to take until 10 weeks (after my last loss) for me to even begin to relax and enjoy it.

  • I just had my first u/s today, and I have been pretty anxious about it, but am remembering to breathe.  I know it's hard, but just keep telling yourself exactly what we all say... "today, I'm pregnant and I LOVE my baby." I pray for my not-yet-showing bump every single day.  Enjoy every minute.
