Pregnant after a Loss

possibly stupid question

I know that Tylenol is the pain reliever that is ok'd for pg ladies... but my questions is this...

Is it ok because it doesnt cross the placenta?  Or is it ok because they have found that it does no harm to the baby when it crosses?

I have a toothache and cannot get in right away to have it looked at but I dont want to live on Tylenol if I shouldn't.

Re: possibly stupid question

  • I don't know about how the tylenol works, only that it's allowed.

Use some baby orajel on your tooth! If it's safe for them after their born it's probably safe for them now!

  • I'm not sure if it crosses the placenta or not.  But I have been having terrible back pain from being on my feet for 8 hours at work running around, and my doctor told me 1000mg every 4 hours was perfectly safe.  I'd take it...

  • Obviously not a stupid question- I don't think any of us know! ;) I have no clue but I've taken it for headache relief w/ DD and this pregnancy. I'm confident that it's totally safe.

  • Totally not a stupid question! I don't know the answer though. Since Tylenol is one of the only things that is allowed, I say just take some. Toothaches suck. Feel better soon!
