we used the nasal aspirator (booger sucker!) and infant saline drops (over the counter), as suggested by the pedi. he also told us to raise the matress just a bit at the head to help relieve the pressure. but apparently no drugs for babies unless absolutely necessary. my brother is a pharmacist and said it's b/c they sometimes have a negative reaction, which our pedi agreed. hope your LO doesn't catch anything!
he had a resp infection with a fever. We gave Tylenol a few times to keep him comfy, saline drops and aspirator as well a cool mist humidifier.
He is just getting over a cold where he was super fussy & congested but no fever. Same thing except the Tylenol. I also put Baby Vicks rub on his feet at bedtime with a pair of socks or footed jammies. I have friends who swear by this and since it said 3 months plus I went for it. I also put a tiny bit on his chest (the residual on my hands, not much) I jsut made sure it wasn't somewhere he could get in his mouth.
