Behavior Question- WWYD?

How do you deal with other kids misbehaving? I mean like if you're on a playdate or out in public with another family and their kids are behaving poorly. What about if it starts to impact your LO? (pushing, hitting etc...)

Ignore it? Say something to the child? Say something to the mom?

Just curious how other moms (or moms-to-be) would answer.

Re: Behavior Question- WWYD?

  • I haven't dealt with this yet butI am pretty sure I would say something.  I have said no and don't do that to the little girl at daycare.  She hit Ethan one day and before I   could react lois said something.  I'm not going to let Ethan get bullied.

  • If the other child's poor behavior is directly affecting your child (as in the other kid is hitting your LO) then I would absolutely tell the other child to stop and then direct your child to an activity that isn't near the offending kid.  If the other child's behavior is just something you LO is witnessing, I wouldn't say anything to the other child, but reinforce your LOs good behavior with some praise.  Just my opinion.

    Exactly this.
