i haven't really been around that much. as mentioned in previous post (see: "i'm so glad christmas is over") i've had a lot going on- plus, the baby is getting so big and you know how they are- you take your eyes off of them for .2 seconds and they're trying to eat lightbulbs. crazy kids!
how have you been?
Re: geek
Pretty good! I think I've gained about 10 pounds in the last week and DH's grandmom died the day before Sarah's birthday but other than that things have been pretty good. The ILs were very generous to us this Christmas and DH is going to sign up for some classes to start a certificate program in web development in the spring, so that'll be good. And I finally decided back on applying to medical school. I'm taking the MCAT in late spring, I think.
I misssssss you!

really... web development? that's pretty cool. my degree is in poly sci and spanish but i decided after college my talents would be best suited in marketing/advertising/PR.... my friend and i have recently started to freelance - focusing on google search engine optimization for clients and social media as networking and marketing tools. i have a meeting about it wednesday.
what does dh want to do with it? he could totally go into business for himself. it's a lot easier than most think.
He has a degree in media arts and animation. Most jobs around here that he could get that are similar to his degree are graphic design jobs. But then most of those jobs also expect you to be a web designer/developer, too. They want you to know the creative programs like PS, Illustrator, etc, and be fluent in various web programming languages, as well. It sucks because they want to hire one person to do two different jobs. The certificate program is at the local CC and is one year long (3 semesters and they have a summer program) and should open up a lot of job opportunities for him.
Ultimately, he would really like to be a freelance illustrator and web comic artist and I fully support him in that but it's just not a possibility until we're in a better financial position to begin with and have more savings. But even once he's doing that he could offer web design as another service, and he'll be better at maintaining his own website(s), so what he'd learn wouldn't be wasted.
