We just started sweet potatoes on Christmas. She has received about 2 Tbsp of it at night to start our bedtime routine at 7pm. I made it myself and mix in a little Happy Bellies organic brown rice cereal and a little bm. Tomorrow I will start some green beens.
I am also thinking about starting to give her some of the rice cereal in the mornings during her second feeding.
However much she wants of whatever food we are on. So far we've done cereal, carrots, green beans, applesauce, sweet potatoes and tonight squash. We've only been doing them for a few weeks.
So far we've given LO bananas, avocados, carrots and butternut squash (in that order). We feed her solids twice a day, after a nursing session. I let her eat as much or as little as she wants. So far it's going great.

we started at 4 months and she loves her solids! I make my own fruit and she takes 3 ice cube size cubes of fruit in am mixed with cereal and almost 1 container of size 1 veggie at night.
Gianna is eating 2 meals a day--1 tbsp oatmeal and 1/2 jar of fruit in the AM, and 1 tbsp rice cereal and 1/2 jar of veggies in the PM. She has had every stage 1 food there is, except for peaches and applesauce. We introduce those this week.

DS does 2 tbsp oatmeal with half jar/container if fruit and then 2 tbsp of oatmeal with half jar/container of a veggie at night. we have done all 1st stage foods and have moved on to the 2nd stage foods. we sometimes do about 1/3 of a jar/container of a mixed meat (sweet potato and turkey, chicken noodle, chicken and veg..) in the afternoon if he seems hungry early. DS is a bottomless pit though. if i didn't measure, he would definitely explode before he stopped eating
We give cereal twice a day (oatmeal or barley).with fruits or veggies (or both). She has had bananas, squash, pears, carrots, avocado and green beans. She will usually eat 1 full container (or like 3 ice cubes worth) but Sometimes she eats less.

We started solids last Saturday and have tried rice, oatmeal, squash, and sweet potatoes. We have scaled it back to just oatmeal for now because DD didn't take to the rice cereal, squash, or sweet potatoes. We're going to wait to reintroduce the veggies until she is better at actually eating the oatmeal... right now she'll eat about 1.5 tbsp of oatmeal in the evening.

This is a really helpful website. Even if you aren't planning on making your own baby food, it gives great tips on just solids in general.
