Why won't my child ever go to sleep before midnight?

He naps well during the day and we have a night time routine - but he always wakes up like every 15 minutes and screams until he finally falls asleep at midnight. I try everything to get him to sleep but nothing works. I'm too anxious to let him CIO.  Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Maybe he's just a night owl. My dh's good friend has a 9m ds who doesn't go to sleep until around midnight either.

Yep - he has always been like that. I figured he may be a night owl but he does seem tired the whole time. He yawns like crazy, screams, and rubs his eyes. I thought it was just because of teething but his two bottom teeth are fully in and still no change.

Maybe there is something that is bothering him in the room he sleeps in. Then he just gets so exhausted that he eventually falls asleep anyway.

My DS is like this too!  We just figured he's a night owl and thats how its going to be.  I think the earliest he's gone to bed was 11:30, but that was one night!  If you figure anything out I'd love to hear it!

How long of a nap does he take and what time does he wake up from his nap? Maybe he's getting too much sleep during the day?

DS did this for awhile which led to us doing Ferber at 6.5 months.  Now his bedtime is 7:30-8p.

What time does he get up in the morning?  DS was getting up for the day at 5a so we weren't thrilled.
