Sorry if this has been asked recently. Just wondering what your 8 month old is doing...
DS hates banannas so I'm getting a little limited on the Stage 2 foods. All the other combos have Apple in them for the most part. Can only give this child so much apple, pear, prunes and peach combos.
Was thinking of maybe giving him a little toast in the am to mix it up. I want to add a small third meal at lunch time, but I'm afraid of his formula intake going down too much. As it is right now, he won't take 1 after eating food, not for about 30-45 minutes.
His am nap is 1.5 hours long sometimes. Afternoons are little tricker. Sometimes it goes too late and bed time is a disaster.
Thanks for sharing.
Re: naps/eating at 8 months..
DS is almost 9mos but he is having a mixture of stage 2 or homemade baby foods 3 times a day. I have been giving him fruit and cheerios in the AM... fruit or veggie with rice cereal for lunch with some puffs and then a meat and veggie for dinner. He is also getting 5 6oz bottles throughout the day.
For naps he does one morning nap usually 1.5-2 hours from like 9-11 and then an afternoon one that is usally 1.5hrs somewhere in between 130 and 4. He used to need a catnap around dinner time, but I think he is done with those. Bed time is around 8pm.
HTH!
DS is a very picky eater. He likes fruits but hates most veggies. And he just started rejecting purees over the last 3 or 4 days so it's gotten kind of difficult. He really likes mum-mums, cheerios, apple slices in the mesh feeder. He'll also eat other fruits (pear, cantalope, mango) in the mesh feeder. Over the weekend, I started giving him more table food and he seemed to really enjoy it -- he had plain pasta, roasted red peppers, and provolone cheese. He is not able to feed himself (with the exception of the mum-mums).
As for naps, he usually takes a long morning nap, about 90 minutes. I will wake him if it goes longer than this. I have a harder time getting him down for an afternoon nap and they are usually shorter, 45 minutes max. Two weeks ago I started putting him on a schedule and it was working wonders. He was much happier, better rested, sleeping through the night but it all went to hell over this past weekend because we spent 4 days at the ILs so now we are starting back at square one.
