Hi ladies! I don't often post ( I do lurk quite often......sorry!), but I had a question that some of you may be able to help with. Do babies get shots when they go to their 9-month well baby check up? I thought they didn't, but someone told me otherwise (they're not a parent, but they said their neice did, so I don't know). I like to just mentally prepare myself for shots because the day after is usually pretty miserable. You bring your healthy and happy baby in the doctor's office and leave with a crying, feverish, miserable baby. It's just no fun.
Re: 9 Month Check Up
DD got her 3rd hep B vac, a finger prick to check for anemia. This was by far the easiest well baby checkup....DD wasn't fussy at all afterwards. I usually give her tylenol but this time there wasn't a need for it.
we get our lead test at 1 year
DS would not have normally have had any shots at 9 month, but they had H1N1 available, so he got that.
However, some LOs in playgroup did have shots at 9 month ... along with lead testing and iron prick.
Thanks everyone. I know it is super important to have DD get all her shots, but man, I hate the aftermath. She got 5(!!!!!) shots at her 6 month. Three of them were the regular 6 month shots, one was an H1N1, and the other a seasonal flu. The following day was pretty rough for her. I felt so bad....
