Congrats! Are you seeing a CPM or a CNM? A CNM will be much the same as an OB in terms of tests and what not. If you are seeing a CPM, they will likely get you in to discuss if you want testing, early u/s, etc. Mine left it up to me.
I've found that it differs practice by practice and depends on (a) what kind of loss and (b) how many. If you've had more than two you'll probably be closely monitored, if not, they chalk it up to "normality" and won't really do anything special unless you insist and even then they might not do anything different.
I had a chemical pregnancy and my MW doesn't even consider it a loss at all. My first appt isn't until 9 weeks (though, I had a scare, went to the ER and saw LO's heartbeat. That was cool)
Big congrats and welcome! Like others said, it depends on the person and circumstances. I had a healthy baby in b/w losses, so there wasn't anything dramatically diff. that my OB wanted to do, but she did have me come in for early b/w to check betas/progesterone and an early u/s when I had cramping for a number of days. Generally speaking, she's just been extra supportive! H&H 9 months to you

I had 3 successful pregnancies, a m/c and now I'm pg again. The only thing my doc did differently was see me 3 weeks after my 1st appt, not 4. She really felt my m/c was a fluke and that this one would be fine and so isn't doing anything differently.
Welcome to the board!! Congrats on your BFP! I was informed to call my OB when I got a BFP so that I could be put progesterone. However, I ended up calling a little early, at 5 dpo, and that's when I was put on progesterone this time around. The doctor had me come in the next week for betas, and then a third beta was done 6 days after the 2nd one. I have an early dating u/s on Tuesday this week. After that, I'll have an 8 week, 10 week, and 12 week appointment before going on to a normal OB visit schedule.
I agree with the pp -- every woman and her pregnancy is different. So, hopefully you'll get in touch with your doctor this week, and set up a schedule that works for you and your baby. Congrats, again.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like every practice handles things differently. My m/c was found at an u/s around 9 weeks and I had a d&c a few days later. I called this morning and left a message on the midwife voicemail. I didn't transfer right to the appt desk because I would rather someone pull my chart then call me back. I'm sure things will be fine this time but I can't help but be a bit more cautious.

Re: So, I've had one child and one m/c and now a bfp
Congrats!! The only thing my dr. did differently was see me right after my BFP for betas and then later, an early u/s.

I was the same as you, had DS, had a m/c, then got pregnant 3 months later and so far so good!
My doc had me get blood work done in the beginning to make sure my progesterone was good as well as my hcg levels. Besides that nothing different.
Good luck!
