Leapster owners

So we've already gone through our first set of batteries since Christmas!!  Are my batteries duds or is this normal?  I'm not always going to let her play as much as she has in the last day but am wondering if we should get the recharging station??  Does anyone have it?  It's not on sale but they are having free shipping through today. 

What have you guys done?  Fly through batteries or gotten the AC adapter or recharging station?

Plus part of me wonders if her fascination with this will wear off and she will end up not playing with it much?

    We use rechargeable batteries.  When DD was playing with it a bit more it did seem to go through a lot of batteries.  The novelty has worn off and I think using the rechargeable batteries helps not notice how many it uses. I didnt know they had a charging station! I may have to look into that!

    Ours last over a day, even with a lot of use.
