I could KILL my SIL! (vent, kind of long sorry)

Since all of our families are local, we divide Christmas up 3 way (my parents are divorced). We have DH's family Christmas on Christmas Eve, my mom's side on Christmas day (usually, but not this year since my mom is going through another divorce), and then my dad's side on the day after.

So we decided to announce the pg to our families on their respective days, and then ask them to keep it quiet so as not to spoil it for the other members who didn't know yet.

So we do DH's family first and I specifically tell DH's --loudmouth-- sister not to say anything to anyone and especially not to post anything on FB.m

So everything is good until Christmas night when SIL posts on my status update "Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas and Congratulations on your new addition!" (oh yea, yesterday was my birthday, too; but that's another story altogether!)

Since I get notifications to my phone I saw it and was able to delete it immediately. So texted SIL and politely told her that we had not yet told everyone and that I deleted her post. She replies, "I am Justin's sister!" (as if to say I can tell who I want.)

So She conveniently posts in her own status update that she will be an aunt in 2010. UGH! She just makes me so mad!

Pretty disrespectful. If you plan to tell gender or names... I'd make a point to say to this girl that you'd tell her when you tell everyone else, but since she couldn't keep the secret last time, she'll have to find out on facebook after EVERYONE knows in person. What a brat.

That made my blood boil just reading it! She definitely deserves a throat punch. Grrr....who cares if you're his sister, it's not your freakin' news to share!! This just means next time (if you're planning on more kids), she just won't get to find out 'til last, right? What a biatch!

My MIL told EVERYONE our news and we didn't get the chance to tell anyone on DH's side of the fam.. DH was pissed to say the least too since we'd been trying for 3yrs!! ggrrrrrrr

Let me guess - this is your DH's YOUNGER sister right? And she doesn't have any kids of her own? Cause if she was older and had kids of her own she would understand that this news is YOURS to share and not hers and it's not all about her. Some people are ridiculous.

NO! That's the kicker! She's DH's half sister from his dad's first marriage and she is 41 and has a 19 year old herself!

This is what we threatened DH's mother with. It worked, but if she had opened her big mouth... we told her she would not know anything else until baby was born and we were home from the hospital.

I am so sorry. My MIL sounds similar to your SIL, and it is like dealing with a child all the time. It gets so old.

What a PITA!!!! For 41, she shows very little maturity, and no respect for others. I'm sorry, Mrs. Nunley... I vote that you intentionally leave her out of any other big reveals until everyone else knows first.
