We have one and love it so much we are seriously considering investing in another one even though they are a tad pricey. C hates carseats, but he loves this one. It fits well in my sedan and moves easily to DH's Tahoe. Easy to install. Looks cool. Easily a 9.5 out of 10.
No, it reclines well on its own rear facing. The top almost rests against the front seat, and we keep it reclined pretty far. At least as far as he reclined in his infant carrier.
DH and I both have the air protect in our cars and we love it! I really like that near the sides of DD's head there's the air. If DD hit her head it is obviously much softer than any other carseat padding. Even the foam in a lot of the other ones still seems hard. I wouldn't be surprised if this air protect stuff becomes much more popular in the coming years. The only thing I don't like is the buckles fall under her butt and I have to dig them out to strap her in. In the britax ones we looked at there was a piece of velcro to hold the straps open while you placed the baby in the seat. It was a bit more than we wanted to spend but it RF and FF to high weight limits and we used a 20% off coupon. Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions about it!
