How many bins for the Trufast system at Ikea?

Are deeper bins or swallow bins better? Would be buying one for each boy be over kill?

Re: How many bins for the Trufast system at Ikea?

  • It depends on what you are storing. I like the big bins for things like plush animals and wheeled toys. I wish that I had bought some smaller bins for the million and one itty, bitty pieces parts that we have.

  • Which one are you looking at buying?  We have the three tiered on and have 1 large, 2 medium and the rest are small (I want to say that is 3 small but it might be 4.)  We used to have 2 small instead of 1 medium and I regretted it.  Like the PP said, it really depends on what you want to store.  I would look at what you need to store and think of thinks like matchbox cars in a small bin (and you can fit a TON if they are matchbox) and bigger toys in a bigger bin.  If you have an Ikea nearby then buy for what you need now and change it if you need to later but if Ikea is really far for you then buy a few extras so you can change it later...they are not expensive.  Oh, and most importantly, do not think this will solve all your storage issues, lol, I love ours but there are still things on the floor that do not fit or just would be a waste of a bin.

Yeah, I know it won't solve everything. The only thing that will solve that is a bigger house and less stuff! We have a small ranch and some regular book cases in the boys rooms. Not working!

  • DH will be leaving in an hour to go buy our trofast system! I can't wait.... I hope it works better than what we have now. I'm not sure which one to get from Ikea though. I think I will make a seperate post for that.

Thia is what we have, and I HATE it. Even when the toys are put away in the bins it still looks messy.

LOL! We have that too, but in primary colors. I also hate it! The boys just dump all the bins. We bought 2 trufast systems at Ikea (different styles'0. Now even if the stuff isn't organized I don't have to look at it!
