Pregnant after a Loss

3rd & 4th betas!

So I had betas drawn on the 22nd & 24th and got them back.

3rd: 36,530

4th: 43,939

I am a little worried because they aren't even close to doubling... so of course I'm going to be a wreck until our next u/s on Jan. 7.

Re: 3rd & 4th betas!

  • When they reach a certain amount I don't believe they double anymore. I thought it was like 20,000 or something. I didn't get betas so I am not sure. But they did go up and not down which is always wonderful news! January 7 will be here before you know it!

  • I agree with dkfitz07.  When you reach a certain point in your pregnancy, your betas just increase and not double.  I'm sure everuthing is fine!
  • I've heard that too (that after a certain point, they don't double)

Just focus on that they are going UP!!

  • Don't worry about them doubling in 48 hours. It takes more like 96 hours after your levels reach over 1,200. Those numbers sound great. Congrats!

  • I agree with the previous posters - those are great numbers and there is no reasons to worry about doubling in 48 hours at this point.  Enjoy your u/s.
  • I think your numbers look great, and by the time they're that high, they're  not going to double but it's good they're going up. I copied this for you and hopefully it'll ease your mind (looks like you're just where you should be).

  • They do stop doubling at some point. The further along you get, you're hormones stop 'supporting' the pregnancy and your placenta takes over. So don't stress!

  • Those numbers look great! My dr. had told me about the numbers not doubling after a certain point, so I think your good!
