my mom's christmas planning. my uncle told her two weeks ago that they voted and she's hosting cmas dinner tomorrow. he told me this on fb and asked me if I wanted to bring anything.

mom: U at work? what time is church? U have any more hot sauce?
me: yes, 10, yes
mom: can I get another container of sauce? what goes with duck and ham? I can't make corn bake. Yuk
me: sure. I can make mac n cheese.
mom: K could you have it here by 1 tomorrow? And make a huge batch? I have a big dish. I'm not making sticky buns either. Gag.

(sticky bun backstory: each cmas morning she made sticky buns - last year, they went to disney for cmas, and my dad and bro went out and bought her the stuff to make sticky buns. at their hotel. in disney.)

me: make sure you tell dad and ehren you're not making them, lol.
mom: dad eats oatmeal. ehren doesn't get up til 1. tough for them.

she cracks me up. christmas is going to be interesting.

Moms are the best!  My mom makes special muffins every year that have jelly baked in the middle - so good, she told me on tuesday that we didn't have to do the 'normal' Christmas morning breakfast and I told her there better be muffins ;o)  I swear if a recipe existed I would make them myself, but it is one of those things that she has stored in her memory.
