My first adventures in L&D

Wow, I thought I would be here to ponder how a year ago today I was having my second D&C and today I had my 37w appt, boring as usual. Turns out it wasn't so boring!

To start off, I gained four pounds in six days (I've been very swollen). Then there was a little protein in my urine and my BP was "borderlinish" at 130/90. The nurse did it again after I sat for a few minutes and it went down to 120/80. I guess that wasn't enough for my Dr, who sent me to L&D for more monitoring and labs since it's so close to Christmas. Good thing DH decided at the last minute to come to my appointment!

Surprisingly, I stayed calm through all this, which I attribute to my Hypnobabies home study. L&D was a breeze, LO is fine, my labs came back normal, no protein in my urine, and the last BP check was 119/65. Woohoo! I have to do a 1-hr urine collection and take it easy, but at least I don't have to worry about having a Christmas baby at this time. I'm barely dilated a fingertip, so an induction would probably not be easy or fun. Thank you, Baby Jesus!
