I have never been big on having a big family get together for my birthday.  (Jan 11th)  My mother just called me and told me what we are doing for it because it has to be celebrated, being the last official holiday even that it can be all about me.

I am like that too about my bday. My family was never big on birthdays (especially mine) so I never want a big deal... MIL forces a big family dinner and gifts on me. This year was the first year since I have been with DH that I actually was able to get away with doing nothing.
