Name Spelling.

DH and I are no where near committing on a boy's name yet.  But I really like the name Cade.  I orginally liked Cole but a close friend's son is names that.

But there is so many ways to spell Cade.

Cade, Cayd, Caid, Kade, Kayde, Cayde, Caide

If I were naming my son that name, I would keep it as Cade...I like that spelling the best.

Cade. I think since it's a unique name you should stick to a more traditional spelling.

I like it just as Cade. Since it's not what you would call a "traditional" name I think a traditional spelling is fine.

I like either Cade or Caide.  I think if you go with a "K" it is more feminine.

I like Cade.  K spellings seem a little too close to Kate for me.  I also don't like adding a y, makes me think it would be pronounced Cay-de.

I would stick with Cade.  I think the Kayde and Cayde look a little more feminine and I think people would pronounce them more like Katie.

Speaking from a school teacher's point of view, I would go with the simplest spelling which is Cade.  I hate having to guess kids names and you can tell that some kids just get tired of correcting people and having to tell everyone how to spell their name.  Almost every teacher I know is a bit frustrated with the "creative spelling" baby name trend. 

 It's a nice name, though.  Just keep it simple!

My good friend's son's name is Cade.  I prefer that spelling.  My second choice would be Kade.
