Put half away, live off the interest, buy a house with some acreage and new cars and furnishings with with the rest, and start having babies. We'd probably get some horses, too.
If I had one million dollars (taxes already paid)...
- Pay off my house and other debt.
- Give a good chunk of money to our parents.
- Buy new vehicles.
- Build our dream house and furnish it--keeping our current home as investment property.
- Donate to a few charities.
- Invest the rest so that DH and I can live comfortably off interest.
Pay off all debt. Put 3/4 of it in the bank in CD's/investments/money market. Buy both of us new cars, new roof, home repairs, put 10,000 for access at any time (checking account/savings) and use the rest to divide between family to help with their debt (which would be about 25,000 to each set of parents).

Pay off house, student loans, and cars. Put a second floor on the house. Go to Mexico. Start hefty college savings for the baby, as well as a high interest savings for ourselves. Help our parents with some of their debts.

Buy some land and build our dream home. Not a huge home, obviously I have to do the upkeep.
If needed, IVF.
