Pregnant after a Loss

Vision changes?

The last two days I feel like I can't see - DH said he looked online and my eyeballs can retain water, making my vision change.

Is this a real thing or am I imagining it because I need a nap?

Re: Vision changes?

  • I asked my eye doctor about it, he said he doesn't really notice it among his patients, but he has heard of it. He acted like it was out of proportion maybe. I feel like I can't see as well, but only one eye got worse, and not enough to switch prescriptions. So I guess I am not sure either.

  • When I was pregnant w/ DS I noticed a lot of eye-strain type headaches. After he was born I went to the eye doc and she told me that pregnancy can significantly change your prescription. I had to get new contacts and glasses. I told her I wanted lasik surgery and she said not to get it until about 2 years after I am done having kids. HTH.

  • While I have glasses I usually don't wear them. However, when pg I find I have to wear them all the time or I get bad headaches and blurry vision. My OB said pregnancy can really effect some people's eyes.

  • Good to know. I was thinking about getting lasik before I got pg. I'm really glad I didn't now.

Hopefully it's one of those things that just comes and goes - I've been getting headaches the last two days from it.

I see my doctor tomorrow - I'll ask if he has any more info.

  • While pregnant w/dd, I did this. I actually had to get a new prescription while during my 2nd tri w/her. Before my loss, during my 2nd pregnancy, my eye site changed again. My EYE DR said it's pretty common during pregnancy. (My mother had 3 pregnancies/children and during all 3 her eyes worsened ....maybe mine was hereditary?)
