DH and I cannot even find names we really like, let alone agree on. So for now, these are the front runners of what we like, but still don't quite think is perfect. Your thoughts? Or suggestions for other names (ideally not in the SSA top 100 and not too far out there - no Moonshine Amadeus or Flaxseed Cowpattie or anything like that.....)
Joshua
Nicholas/Nicolas
Fynn
Ronan
Re: Opinions on Boys Names?
Oh come on, I really like Flaxseed Cowpattie!
We like Finn too (but with an i, not a y), have you tried www.nymbler.com? It helped us a lot with boy names- we went from having ONE idea to having like 10.
I love Joshua, but I am married to one so I may be biased.
Joshua - eh, nothing wrong with it
Nicholas - ok
Fynn - NMS, but don't like y. would use Finn.
Ronan - nope
Flaxseed Cowpattie also gets my vote. (This will now be the name I tell people when they ask what we've decided on...)
I think Fynn/Finn is becoming more popular lately...Ronan isn't. That's quite the masculine name. Not sure if it's my style, but it could grow on me - I like that it isn't very popular.
What about stuff like:
Andrew
Carlton
Jameson
Marcus
Seamus
Gregory
Siegfried (I work with one...it just came to mind)
Douglas
Guy
O'Neil
Dalton
Darrell/Daryl
Stuart
A lot of these are random, I work with them, or they are 'old' names from my family.
Good luck on finding a name!

I like Ronan best.
My DS is Cedric Donovan
Some of those names (from your list) are definitely in the top 100. So, here are some suggestions that aren't uber popular but may be in the top 100.
Asher
Jonah
Micah
Quinn
Archer
My favorite names, other than my sons Colin and Graham, are:
Oliver
Alistair
Harrison
Vaughan
I love Joshua but if you are trying to avoid popular names, that's definitely not the one to go with since it's #4 on the SSA list. I also like Nicholas. Finn (prefer it with an i) is a fine name, just NMS. I don't really like Ronan.
What about Benjamin (popular, but..), Zachary, Simon, Samuel, Connor
My first choice would be Nicholas. Then Joshua.
Or, Joshua Nicholas.
Joshua = perfectly good name
Nicholas/Nicolas = Great name
Fynn = Please spell it with an "i"
Ronan = I like this but prefer Roman.
Nicholas/Nicolas-decent name, not a top pick, but still a solid choice
Fynn-great with an "i", off with a "y"
Ronan-NMS
Joshua - my fave of the list. Fynn - second if with an 'i'.
Nicholas - eh. Ronan - NMS.
