2nd Trimester

I broke down and bought a neti pot...

I used it already too.  It was not as bad as I imagined, but still bad.  Stick out tongue  Hopefully this will help my cold pass quicker and will not allow it to go into a sinus infection over the holidays. (Had one around Thanksgiving.)

Re: I broke down and bought a neti pot...

  • What was bad about it?  I love my Neti Pot Big Smile

I remember it seemed to take a few days of consistent use to really make a difference, but now it like my sinuses are back to normal.  I love it!

  • It does take a little time to get used to it.  But, I love mine now.

Just the thought of pouring water up my nose, I think is the worse.  I only used 1/2 a pot for both nostrils because I kept feeling like I was getting water near the back of my sinuses...  really, it is probably just my fear of drowning!  Stick out tongue  It feels better and clearer now though!

  • At first it was weird, but I love love LOVE my neti pot! And when I'm sick I use that, saline nasal spray and breathe right strips at night, and the combination of the three makes such a difference!

  • SadI wish I could say I loved mine.  I have two versions - the neti pot and the one where you actually shoot the water up your nose.  Neither has worked for me at all.  Just made my nose drier.

  • so tell me - do you pour warm water up your nose???

ETA: NM, i just googled it :P?

  • Everyone recommends this to me. I'm a little sketched b/c it seems like water-boarding. LOL j/k I do need to run out and get one.  Has anyone tried ear candles? My friends swears by them, too.

  • My husband is an ENT & he recommends the Nasal Rinse Bottles.  We use those and they really help.  They're similar to a Neti but a bit easier to use in my opinion.  I have had a horrible cold this past week and the rinse bottle has been saving me.
