For those of you having protected sex

(I know, kind of odd here but there are a few of us!)

I haven't used condoms in years. Between the pill and DH, there was no need. But we're on strict medical hold TTC until Feb. And without BCP, we're using condoms.

It physically hurts to use them. Without being able to see what's going on, all I can offer up is that it feels like the edge of the condom roll is rubbing on the opening for my vag and it just feels... abrasive. Sooo not pleasurable. I think we've been through 5 brands, or so. Now I'm kind of afraid to try it again. Huh?

Anyone else have trouble with condoms?

    My Dh and I had to TTA  last cycle.  I had the mother of all yeast infections because of condoms.

    Yeah, we didn't have any luck when we first got of BCP either... It felt very abrasive like you said... I don't know why, we even tried putting lube on it and it still was very uncomfortable.

    So we just said if we get KU oh well, and almost a year later still waiting for our miracle.

    Maybe talk to your doc about this...maybe you have an allergy? Or maybe he can suggest a better brand or something different.

    Start Augmentin- antibiotic prep

    **8/29/13: Follow up... bad fragmentation issues. Changing protocol to Antagonist for round #2 coming soon! Also started on 81mg Aspirin after getting blood panel done and found out I have PAI-1**

    IVF w/ICSI #2 (Antagonist Protocol)
    BCPs started back in Sept due to cysts
    10/27/13: Start stims (225 IUs Gonal-F + 75 IUs Menopur)
    11/03/13 - 11/05/13: Add Ganirelix to the mix
    11/06/13: 3 follicles at 18mm-- Ready to trigger!
    11/08/13: ER-- 17R, 13M, 8F
    11/13/13: 5dt-- 2 blasts (Luke and Leia) 5AB and 4AB, 1 frostie
    11/20/13- 11/23/13: light positives on FRERs and Wondofos
    11/22/13: BFN per RE office (under HCG of 10)
    11/27/13: CP ::sigh::

    *12/03/13: Follow up...great response and quality this time, was given 50% chance of it working, just didn't stick. Great plan for 2014! 

    **Jan 2014: Last IVF of our SRP**
    IVF w/ICSI, freeze all, then FET
    12/27/13: Start BCPs
    01/19/14: Stims (375 IUs Gonal-F + 75 IUs Menopur)

    i never could understand when they would teach us in sex ed. that you can't feel a difference with a condom... thats such crap!

    We resorted to the "pull out" method with BCP.

    Condomdepot.com is a great website. Free shipping.  I was buying the Japanese condoms and loved them (as much as you can love a condom)!

    I can not use anything w/ nonoxynol-9, I think I have an allergy to it.  Lube helps.

    Mr Techie feels really bad about it but we're kind of at a loss. And I am not waiting until Feb to have sex again!

     lol, we have not tried to put lube on it. I had an unfortunate incident with Mr Techie early on in our relationship where we used lube and the condom slipped off and didn't come out. I had to go "fishing" for it. Surprise

    We really need to do what we can to avoid getting KU until Feb.

    Yeah, I never believed them either. And after feeling what it's like without them- why would you ever use them if you didn't have to?

    I am nearly at the pull-and-prey stage. I don't like hugging my side of the bed so that Mr Techie won't get any ideas.Sad

    I have a latex allergy so we've been sticking to the lambskin or synthetic versions. But so far, no luck. And the more bad experiences I have, the less I want to try again. Sad

    I think it bothers me more because I would be perfectly happy without them, you know?

    I want to get KU. Just not this month. Oh, and I had really good quality EWCM yesterday and today. So even if I wanted to risk the pull-and-pray version, tonight would not be a good time to try it. lol

    Def check them out.  They have every type of condom you can think of,  even a variety of non-latex.
