Babies on the Brain

why even bother?

Long backstory short: Used to be really close friends with a girl (we'll call her T), stupid shiit happened, other issues came up, we see each other when we see each other now but don't go out of our way to hang out anymore.

She sent me a FB message yesterday saying she had a Christmas present she wanted to drop off for me before we leave today, and that she would call before she came by.  Ok, cool.  I was in the shower and DH was down here with the kids, and I get done drying my hair and think I hear a car in the driveway so I ask DH to look and see.  It's T.  She was pulling out.  He checks the porch and she had dropped off the fudge she made without knocking or ringing the doorbell or anything.  DH's truck is in the driveway so it's pretty obvious that someone is home, and me being the loser that I am even checked the doorbell to see if it wasn't working and he just didn't hear it.  Nope it works.

If you can't be bothered to even ring the doorbell and hand the gift over in person, why even bother giving one at all?  Just the latest thing in a series of WTF events I guess.

Bright side, DH says the fudge is excellent.  I'm being a brat and refusing to eat it.  ;)

Re: why even bother?

  • Wow, that is so strange to me.  But I would eat the fudge.  I am forgiving like that ;)

  • Maybe, just maybe she had a bunch of deliveries and didn't want to get tied up with the obligatory child awing etc. but called you first so you would know to be expecting it and not leave it out there all day.

I'm trying to give the girl the benefit of the doubt since she did  bring homemade fudge.

I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt too, but she didn't even call first, and specifically said she wanted to see us before we left for Texas today.  Weird but I can't say it's surprising from her.  Whatevs.  I'm still not eating the fudge.  I'd probably give in if I hadn't spent all afternoon and most of last night puking, but that's a big factor in it too.  ;)

  • Leslie, Leslie, Leslie.  You're cutting off your nose to spite your face.  GO EAT A PIECE OF FUDGE!

When you feel better, of course.  That's so weird that she would just leave it.
