Sigh....DH and Christmas presents

DH and I had an agreement not to exchange presents this year.  There's so much stuff coming into our house for the baby, we decided we didn't really need more stuff for ourselves.

Today, I was sorting out some packages(I had ordered a bunch of stuff online from various places for family presents).  I moved a shipping box and DH yells, "Don't touch that one!"  I said, "Did you buy me a present?"  He was all, "No.....not really......it's not JUST for you......it's really for US.....it's nothing big......"

Dammit!  We had an agreement!  And I have nothing for him!  He's downstairs wrapping it right now.  He's so sweet, but I'm kind of irritated!  I guess I'm going out shopping tomorrow.

Re: Sigh....DH and Christmas presents

  • I wouldn't if I were you.  You decided not to exchange presents.  You shouldn't feel obligated to go shopping for him.

  • Just as I replied to an earlier message about DH and presents...this is (I assume) your last Christmas to just be you and DH. If you want to get something for him, get it. If not, don't. From here on out, it's all about baby so maybe something for just you or just him wouldn't be a bad idea...
  • I wouldn't get him something unless there was something you just absolutely wanted him to have. DH say that we're not exchanging gifts every year because we'd rather save the money and go on vacation, but we always end up getting each other gifts. I got him stuff this year because he really needed the things and I found something really cute related to LO. I would have bought him it anyways. I told him not to buy me anything because I wanted running shoes once LO comes.
  • DH says we have a $25.00 limit this year.  I wonder how that is going for him.  I stuck with it for his gifts (yes- there is an s at the end).  But that is because I used gift cards that don't technically count as part of the $25 spent.

PS. His sisters told me he went over the limit. :)

  • We had a limit on our budget of 50 bucks.

I got DH a cactus garden and a year subscription to national geographic...

    He got me a laptop...

sometimes they just don't hear to well! lol
