s/o Naps

When your LO was really little, were they taking 3 naps a day? ?If so, when did that drop down to 2?

Lila's most-of-the-time schedule right now is: Wake up around 7, nap from 9-10, nap from 12-1, nap from 3-4, put to bed around 7. ?None of it is totally concrete. ?And the naps are more likely to all be 45 minutes each rather than an hour. ?Although sometimes she'll throw everything off with a two hour nap (usually the first or second, never the third).

Just curious what other LO's nap schedules are like at this age and when I should expect it to change.?

Re: s/o Naps

  • Jamie's are slightly more spaced out (9, 1, 5, bed at 9) but otherwise I could have written exactly the same thing.

My friend said I should expect him to go down to 2 naps pretty soon... ugh.

  • I feel like Ben took 4 45-minute naps for a long time.  Like up for 2 hours, aseep for 45 minutes, repeat all day long.  Mostly sleeping n the car.  :)

I can't remmber when he got it together to do 2 naps nicely... but probably somewhere in the 9-ish month time?  maybe later.  I think we went ot 1 nap around 14-15 months?  I guess I should have written this down.

  • Austin pretty much refuses to nap, and if he does it's a cat nap.  The only time he will nap is if someone is holding on to him.  Of course he is younger than Lila.

  • Max takes a 1-2 hour nap at 10:30 and a 1-3 hour nap at 2:30. Then he goes to bed at 7:30.

He's been down to two naps for about 3 months. He will take three sometimes, but only if he takes a shorter nap in the morning.

  • Liam's naps are all over the place.  At home they are only 45 minutes long, but at daycare they are 2 hours long!  He is up for a max of two hours during the day.

  • We were at two naps around 5.5-6 months and stayed there until right after 12. :)

  • My boys had a similar schedule, then at 9 months they dropped down to 2 naps by completely cutting out their third nap of the day - and bedtime became earlier. They are 11 months now and wake at 6:30-7 and nap from 9-10 and again from 1-2 then to bed at 6:30/7. I'm expecting them to drop down to just the afternoon nap and make it a bit longer in the next few months (by 15 months I was told). Sleep and eating is always the hardest for me to adjust to.
