last time around I got some maternity clothes and a couple little things from others at Christmas time, but I'm not buying anything for this baby yet. I will once we know the sex.

No. I think it is weird to buy a gift for the baby before it is born. We've bought stuff, but I won't wrap it or anything like that. I'll wait until next year when LO is actually here to buy a present.
true i see your point.. sales are always great!! i was just thinking it would be cute, and i could have my lil boy open the presents!! but i dont even know what im having, i was just going to buy white onesies, and maybe some rattles and teethers, but i guess i should wait!! thanks ladies!!

Eep! Careful with the idea of having your son open the presents - he may get confused/disappointed that they aren't for him! Thats how my parents told us we were getting a little sister - opening a rattle on xmas morning. I was 6, and clearly remember being mad the last present wasn't even for me. HAHAHA.
DH and I have a children's book that we love but don't own. It began as a joke but turned real lol. Anyway, I bought the book for DH for Christmas, but I'm going to tell him it can be the very first book he reads to baby. So...in a way I guess its for baby too...
I don't get the point of this concept. I mean, I buy things for the baby along the way (otherwise she'd have nothing!) but I'm not wrapping anything and putting in under the tree only so that I can open it... that seems silly to me, IMO.
Re: christmas
I'm not sure I see the point - you are due in May. Maybe Xmas 2010?
I'd take advantage of the day-after-xmas sales though...

I would love to get a cool orgament for the tree that holds the ultrasound picture. We could then relace it with baby's picture next year.
