I had my baby yesterday at 36 weeks (PIP)

Marlee Addisyn came into this world at 5:32 pm she is 5lbs 12oz and 18.9 inches long.

I will post a more in depth birth story later. She is currently in the NICU on a cpap machine. We're hoping w/in the next couple days she will be off of the machine. We could possibly be taking her home next weekend. Please send T&P our way. Thank you ladies

it heps with their lungs. I'm not sure exactly. it's bubbly and makes sure their aveoli don't collapse during breathing.

CPAP is more commonly used with people with sleep apnea. It ensures they get enough oxygen into their system.

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter. Girls tend to be very strong, so you have that on your side. Come on over to the preemies board if you haven't already. Those women have been a wonderful support system for me while my little guy is in the NICU.

Hopefully she'll be home with you soon.

To previous posters: CPAP stands for continuous positive air pressure. It keeps air flowing into the body, and is used with apnea and/or lung immaturity.
