3rd Trimester

Lightening crotch=WRONG description!!

Lightening crotch makes it sounds like it's quick and comes and goes in flashes!  This is soooooo not true (if i'm using the term correctly)  my you know what feels like it's done some heavy lifting and it's so painful --i can litereally feel my ligaments and inner thighs hurting like they are pulled muscles....what the!?! is this about!!!!

Someone please tell me this gets better and goes away soon!!  I waddle :(

Re: Lightening crotch=WRONG description!!

  • Sorry to say, it's just going to get worse! For you it'll probably go away in about 9 weeks!

    Hang in there!

  • Ugh really?

Then let me ask, when did everyone's LC (lightening crotch) start?  is 31 weeks early for that ?

  • 31 weeks sounds about right.  I don't exactly remember when mine started but it's basically just due to LO getting bigger and the weight and pressure.  Just wait untill you drop, my LO likes to headbutt my cervix and it sometimes feels like he's trying to scratch his way out! Loads of fun! But at least it's only temporary and in the end we'll have beautiful babies to show for it!

  • You are so right--it's worth it.  I wish i could just impress upon DH how uncomfortable of a feeling it is!  I was so set on doing the pregnancy waddle, but walking normal is soooo not an option at this point!

  • My crotch/inner thighs has hurt progressively more and more.  I can't remember exactly when it started, but at this point it's really hard to pick my legs up because it hurts so much!  I can barely put my pants on and when I have to lift my foot to get in the car I let out a little yelp of pain everytime.  Sometimes it even takes more than one try to get my leg off the ground enough!  Doesn't this sound glamorous??

Oh, and my waddle is so severe that I can see my bump swaying from side to side  out of the corner of my eye when I walk.  Tongue Tied

  • I hear you on that! I actually had some ladies at work that were giggling because of my waddle and I LOST it! I turned around and said "I waddle because I'm in pain, is that really something to laugh at?"  I blame pregnancy rage! Embarrassed

  • Yes it's quite painful, for me, getting out of bed is the most painful task (our bed is really high up which really doesnt help the situation!)

I was doing so great walking on a treadmil a few days a week...haha forget that now!!!

  • Actually, even though it totally sucks at first, I've found that the more I walk, the less the pain is.  So if you're at all able to, try to do at least 15-20 minutes, it helps loosen up all the kinks.

  • I haven't had lightning crotch yet, but I'm not looking forward to it.  But from what you said, that doesn't really sound like the description that I've heard for LC previously.  You're talking about your legs and such...from what I've heard LC is just pain in the crotch area that shoots up from the pressure of the baby in your pelvis.  Or something like that.  I've never heard about it effecting your legs.
