Sharp pains in middle of the night?

Last night I felt these sharp pains while I was sleeping. It's hard to describe them because I was, well, sleeping. But I think it was on my left side and I know they hurt really bad. It was only for a minute or so and went away, but any thoughts of what it was? Anyone else feel that? RLP maybe?

Re: Sharp pains in middle of the night?

  • I've felt sharp pains before, sometimes when I sneeze or move after I've been sleeping on one side for awhile. It's usually on one side - not all over. I asked my Dr about it at the last visit and she said it was normal - as long as I didn't have cramping that actually stuck for awhile - or bleeding I am fine.

  • I regularly get RLP pains at night, but usually it's triggered by movement. Were you moving around at all? They pains are so sharp they make me cry out.

Good news though is that while I had them the whole second tri they seem to be easing up a little now...

  • I had sharp pains on one side of my belly and on the lower part of my belly all night the other night. It was pretty intense pain that woke me up out of a dead sleep.  Im assuming it was gas pains. I had a Wendys chicken sandwich right before bed and it probably wasnt a good idea. My OB says alot of times when women think there is something wrong it can just be bowel pain (I mentioned my pain to her)
  • I have a lot of ligament pain at night. It's usually on my right side and it is very sharp!
