3rd Trimester

Anyone thinking of switching OB's for next LO?

Just curious... I'm seriously considering switching, and doing a little more research/interviews with the dr.s next time. I like the one I have, but now that I'm going through pregnancy, and hearing about so many other OB's on here, I think I might shop around a little bit for next time!

Anyone else?

  • NO WAY!! I love my OB is is so laid back and makes me feel so comfortable with everything!

  • After we go through our birth plan we might. She was persistant last meeting that I may have to do a c-section, because the baby was too big. This was only from measuring the outside and has not done a growth u/s. I told her straight that a c-section will be my last resort. She understood, but kept trying to talk about "IF" the baby is too big. Telling me things like there will be a lot of pressure and that may be the reason we could not really talk a squatting birth either.
  • I may.  I have to wait at least 30 minutes every time I go in there, usually closer to 45. It's ridiculous.  Then I see them for max 5-10 minutes, if even that, and that's it.  I just think it's pretty rude to run that behind every single time - my time is just as valuable as theirs. It annoys me enough to probably switch next time.

This. Yeah, he's always running behind but that is a small price to pay for being comfortable with your doctor. My DH and I both really like him.
  • Yes!!!

Anytime I am seen by a different OB (if it's urgent or whatever), I like every other OB soooo much better than mine.

  • I switched at 32 weeks because mine was SO medical oriented. She basically laughed when I said I wanted to go natural - epidural and c-section happy and was so overworked and busy that she was never able to answer all the questions I had.

I was scared to move to a new practice, but now I'm SO glad I did. I love love love the MW/OB team I have now and will stay with them.

  • Yes!  My practice has 7 overworked OB's, I wait in the waiting room for 45 + minutes EVERY TIME, and I feel very rushed.  I'm literally still trying to ask questions while they're on their way out the door.  One of the Dr.'s talked to me like I was a moron for telling him I thought I was having BH.  As soon as I made it clear I was doing research onlineand by reading books, he got all snippy and eye roll-ey about Web MD and WTEWYE.  I have seriously gotten way more into from you girls than them.  I picked them because they're close to where I live and I don't have many choices out here.  The next closest place is a 45 minute drive into the city, but it would be worth it if they were a little nicer than these jerks!

  • I like mine, but she's moving next summer to UAE, indefinitely. If she's back here when I'm pregnant again, I'll want to see her. If not, I'll have to find someone else. Sad
