I was just curious when everyone is putting in for their pregnancy leave.
In my work's guidlines they say the sooner the better, even if the dates aren't exact. I know I still have plenty time but was wondering what people normally do? Do you wait for guidance (when you are further along) from your doctor?
Sorry I know I babbled.
Re: How soon do you put in for pregnancy leave?
is your work requiring you to give a certain day?
i worked up until delivery, and my employer was fine with that. they knew if i didn't show up one day, i probably had the baby. i called them to let them of course, but they were very flexible (as long as i had my work load in order, which i did).
Okay -- that's what I was curious about. I haven't come out at work either -- and thought maybe it was too soon for me to put in for leave.
Unfortunately, since I'm with a corporate job it's a little harder -- the HR rep isn't right here to talk to.
I guess I could discuss with my manager and see what the norm is.
thanks ladies! I will have to double check with my manager and take a more thorough look at the handbook and then decide from there.
I am due April 17th- putting in for FMLA starting April 5th- that is if i dont get put on bed rest or if LO is born early!
I am going to submit my doctors forms to HR in January.
In my performance review today my boss talked to me about maternity leave and estimated time off.
Our VP of HR is currently out on Maternity leave. We'll probably look for a temporary replacement closer to my due date.
