Dear Scheduler,
The email you just sent informing me that my week vacation in February is only approved for Tuesday and Thursday but not Monday, Wednesday or Friday is rather disturbing to me. How in the world do you call that a "vacation"?!? Money doesn't grow on trees at my house so we had to buy plane tickets three months ago to be able to afford it. I submitted my request for time off then, but you wouldn't accept it yet since it wasn't the end of the quarter. Since then I've had the email saved in my drafts folder to hit send on when you opened next quarters calendar and literally 2 minutes after I received your email saying you were accepting requests I sent my time off request.
I refuse to change my plans and PAY to get things changed, let alone PAY to cancel. I would appreciate it if you could make a few suggestions on what I can do, since the way you process these requests is absolute jack!
You also denied my request off for my next Dr.'s appointment. Which also angers me... But could you have at the very least told me a few options so that when I do cancel and reschedule with the Dr. that I can be guaranteed time off since I'm coordinating their schedule with mine AND yours?
You are making this much harder on yourself by only accepting time off requests once per quarter. You're swamping yourself and upsetting a lot of people. As I said before JACK...
Signed,
Hormonal and pregnant
Thanks ladies, I needed that moment...
Re: NBR: Vent... I'm fuming...
That is rediculous. This is how I request time off:
"Dear Boss,
I have an appointment tomorrow at X:XX. I'll make up my time the following day.
Thanks!"
Boss's response:
"Ok."
I work at Microsoft but not for them, I work for a vendor of theirs as a receptionist. They don't let you take unpaid time off so if I have a Dr.'s appointment I have to use some of my vacation hours, if I'm 15 minutes late it digs into my vacation time, if I'm out sick I have to use a vacation day. The desk at each building (over 90 here on main campus) has to be covered every day from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The most retarded part about it is that there is such a high turnover rate they can't keep their employees (surprising I know) which is why it's so hard to get approved time off. If I wasn't preggo I would be looking for a new job every day, but at this time I don't plan on going back to work for a while after LO is born so I'm just quitting then. I've never worked for a company that treated their employees this way before, so needless to say I'm rather annoyed with the whole process. I was laid off from my other job as they were just cutting back on Admin support so I'm thankful for this one and a paychek. I just wish it were a better situation is all...
I so wish... This is how my previous job wa. It was so flex that as long as I work 40 hours a week they were happy.
You seriously turn people off here when you use that word. And if I were an employer, I might jerk you around with your time off if you spoke like that.
No, I wouldn't, but I also wouldn't have someone working for me who used that word.
