2nd Trimester

Weird new symptom...Anyone have/had it?

Okay so starting yesterday everytime I take a step I feel a "pop" down in between my legs, as if a bone was popping. It wasn't so bad at first, but if I'm on my feet too much (and since I'm a RN I'm pretty much always on my feet) I also have a shooting pain up my vagina and it radiates into my lower abdomen. This morning when I woke up it didn't start popping right away, but it starting again about half way into my shift (I'm on break right now). I didn't know if anyone had ever had this? If so, how did you deal with or control it?

TIA!

  • Yikes, never heard of this, but it sounds awful! Have you tried stretching out your hips?

If that doesn't help, I'd call my dr just to check.  Not sure about the stabbing pain up your V

  • my round ligament pain was like the pain in the vagina/hip/lower abdomen worse if I was walking/standing, better if I was sitting. I'd say the "pop" goes along as well. I'm a PA so I feel your pain, I'm on my feet all day.  On the plus side, I had the pain starting about 16 weeks, and it went away about 21 or 22, so hopefully yours will too!!

Yeah I've tried that, but it doesn't seem to help much. I have a doctor's appointment on the 28th, but if it gets worse I'll notify him and see what he wants me to do. The baby's heart rate has been good during these times, and not in any distress and I have no spotting or anything so I'm not extremely worried, just uncomfortable.

Maybe that's what it really is, RLP. I'm really hoping it does go away and doesn't get any worse then this. Thanks for the info! I'm starting to think that may be what this is, and since I'm on my feet 10 hours a day, it's just an extreme case of RLP.

    Thanks again!

  • Absolutely I have had all of your symptoms....with all three of my pregnancies! OB has said it is a combo of RLP, hips and pelvis expanding to accommodate the uterus and baby. You're an RN, so I don't have to tell you to call if you are worried, but honestly I have been told it is quite common (though admittedly a little scary when you don't know what it is!).  I promise that part of it gets better toward the 3rd trimester!
