Coming off the pill sucks

My body is so messed up, I have been charting, but it is all over the place, thinking I will stop charting and start up again after AF finally shows up... I was only on Yaz for 2 years, but now of course I am reading all the side effects and the horror stories people have of coming off of Yaz in particular... should have researched it more before... not to mention I have to consciously talk myself down from acting BSC all the time

Yes, it certainly does.  I was most recently on Yaz as well (although it would've sucked for me either way, I think). 

I hope your cycle straightens out.  More than 60 days and give your doctor a call.

I was like this on Orthotricyclene, for about a year in college.  Switched to Desogen and became about 75% less insane.

I was on the BCP for 8-ish years and Yaz for the last 2 and a half and had a long cycle just off.  It was 37 days but I did O and will hopefully continue to do so.  Don't lose hope!!

I just came off Yaz in September and I feel your pain.  First cycle was fairly normal for me (36 days) but I have seen any sign of AF since then!  I was on Yaz for less than a year; before that it was Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for two years.  I was just wondering where you found out about the Yaz S/E?  I did not know that it was worse than the other ones.  That would explain a lot, though.  TIA!

I too just came off Yaz for two years before that Ortho Tri-Cyclen for 6 years before that.  I had two normal cycles and then it has been down hill from there.  AF has not come sence Oct and I don't think she plans to show up any time soon.  I called my GYN and go Friday to take some test to see what is going on and she said "jump start" it again.  Hope you have better luck then I have!

YES IT DOES!  I was on BCP (loestrin) for 8 years when I tried for #1.  My cycles were wacky, but I got my BFP in the 3rd month.  I was back on BCP for about 2 years, when I stopped in August to try for #2.  Since then I have had one AF, and that cycle was 46 days!  When I was 60 days out and AF didn't come, I called my doctor and made an appointment.  She said most likely I'm not ovulating, and gave me a prescription for Provera.  I'm supposed to take this pill for 10 days, and then AF should come within a few days.  A few days into AF I have to get bloodwork done.  I take my last pill Friday.  Good luck... this board gives me a lot of good advice, so don't be afraid to ask anything...

Agreed. I came off in late August and my cycle is all over the map. I just finished a 52 day cycle. They've been getting progressively longer.

I agree..bcp sucks and really needs to be studied more. I came off of it in Feb 09' didn't have AF until June which was brought on by Provera. I just had my first natural cycle in Sept. then had a natural 52 day cycle. On the upside though I just got b/w back and it says I did ovulate this month here's to hoping it just takes time for our bodies adjust after releasing synthetic hormones into our systems. Never again will I trust a doctor that says "your periods will resume the month after stopping the pill"(bite me).
