Trying to Get Pregnant

Ever heard of FertilAid?

Anyone ever heard of FertilAid for women? They are marketing it as something different from Pre Natal vitamins and I read somewhere it was recommending for people coming off the pill? Anyone ever heard of/ used? Or are they full of sh!t?

Re: Ever heard of FertilAid?

  • I have actually used it and still am. A friend recommended it.  It's basically a folic acid supplement with a lot of B vitamins.  While I'm still not KU, my cycles have shortened since starting it - but I also started thyroid medicine around the same time so I'm not sure which is shortening my cycles.

  • The general concensus on GP is that it's a waste of money.  A good prenatal will do the same thing.  I think a few ladies use it, but not many.  I personally wouldn't waste my money.

    LO#1 - 19 cycles, 3 IUIs, 1 m/c, gonal-f, ganirelix, ovidrel, progesterone

Did you order it online or find it in an actual store? Thanks!

  • I used it for a while and my acupuncturist said that the items in the supplement were "generically" good - meaning that as long as you don't have a specific issue (i.e. endo, fibroids, annovulation, etc) they aren't going to hurt anything.

Did it make me feel like I was doing something proactive to help myself? Absolutely. Did they work as in did I get pregnant while taking them? No.

    Married 08.06
    Started TTC 05.08
Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH
    DH: perfect
    1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
    2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!

    1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!
