Numb lips/tongue?

I was on the phone and my lips and tongue started to tingle and my lips are still doing it.  All I've eaten today is my normal cereal (hours ago) and some cheddar cheese (right before it started happening).  It isn't new cheese (i.e. I ate from the package on other days) but it isn't expired.

What the heck could this be?  I probably haven't had enough to drink today...could deydration cause it?

Re: Numb lips/tongue?

  • Is it on one side or both? And can you taste on both sides of your tongue? When I had Bell's Palsy over the summer, the first side was I lost the ability to taste on the right side of my tongue...

  • last week i had numbness on the right side of my face near my mouth. i only had it when i sat (nerves?). I did some yoga and drank water and it went away. you could be dehydrated (very likely in the winter) or you may need to stretch out and relieve some pressure on your back.
