TTC After a Loss

Waiting on MH(and me) to TTC this cycle

So I had introduced myself before and have posted a few random times but now I am ready to be an active member of this board.

I finally got my period, I am charting and got the OK from my doc to TTC. Unfortunately, we are in a bit of a holding pattern now. My MIL passed away last week and I told my husband to take the time he needed. It's been a rough year. My FIL passed away December 22, 2008, we lost three pregnancies and now my MIL after a very short four month battle with lung cancer. We've had so much to process this year that we are weighing the option of waiting a bit to try again. For a while we were just so excited at the prospect of TTC but now that the time is here, we are confused. I am more on board with this than he is right now, and I completely understand that he may need time. However, I feel like the only way for me to move forward with all the loss is to create a new life.

So, I am cautiously jumping back into the TTC process. I even signed up for FF after 9 months of saying I didn't want to. Hoping to share some better times with all of you...

  • Welcome!  We could always use some more Jersey chicks around hereCool

I am sorry for all your losses, sounds like you have had a pretty tough year.  I hope 2010 brings you nothing but happiness and your stay here is short and sweet.  GL!

  • Where in NJ do you live?  I live up in Morris County.  We moved out here to the 'burbs about 1 1/2 years ago.  I am just now starting to get used to it - the winters absolutely suck!

I guess the true question I should ask is if you are a Giants fan or an Eagles fan...Stick out tongue

  • LOL! Giants all the way (although this has been a rough season!) We used to share season tickets with someone but with the PSLs, that ended. I guess it was a good season for that to happen...

We live at the exact corner of Somerset, Mercer and Middlesex counties. We seem to be the boarder of Giants vs. Eagles. Although my husband went to school in PA so we are surrounded by way too many Eagle fans!

  • Just wanted to jump in on this Jersey post. We live in south jersey, but my DH is from north jersey, so we are a giants & eagles household :-).

Staribeth-You really have had a rough year. I'm so sorry for you and your husband's losses. Hopefully 2010 will be much better!

  • DH was born in Philly (later moved to NY) and I went to college in PA so we are BOTH Eagles fans.....living in Giants country.  It's tough, but things seem to be going well this season - lol:)

  • An Eagles/Giants household? That must have been a crazy Sunday night!

JaimieLee-We actually have a bunch of Eagles fan friends who live in Sussex. I guess there are a lot of fan-transplants in the state! Where did you go to college?

  • I went to York College, but I used to have season tickets for Penn State (huge college football fan).  When I met DH, he agreed to become a PSU fan if I became an Eagles fan.  It actually worked out perfectly.
