I had my 17w appointment today and they measured my uterus (I guess from my pubic bone to the top of my uterus) and it was 18cm.. does anyone know what is normal?
My OB did this for the first time at my 24 week appt. He told me that 1 cm for every week you were pg is considered "normal". I was at 26 cm so I was a little bigger but he said that was fine!
I'm at almost 20 wks, I measured in today at 19cm...my doc said the same thing, about 1 cm for every week...some people grow a little faster, some a little slower.

I think it's uterus measuring day They give you 2cm in either direction when measuring ( so at 18 weeks, a measurement of 16cm - 20 cm would be considered normal). More than three, and they send you for a growth u/s. That's where me and my 29- weeks- big -uterus are heading tomorrow.

As PP have said, it's 1cm for every week. At my last appt, my dr said, "that's how we do it in the field when we don't have u/s around."
It was funny bc she's fairly young & is associated with one of the best teaching hospitals in the country. Maybe she did fieldwork somewhere, but I giggled a little to myself.
It's normal. I'm measuring small (21cm at 25 weeks-should be 25cm) however, my OB knows that I carry low, have a long torso, and measured small throughout my first pregnancy and still had a 7lb 12oz little man.
