Re: WDYT of Brooke?

  • I don't hate this name, but I don't really like it either. It's just kinda bland.

Ack...since I'm the first comment I feel like I should have been nice- I'm sorry:(

  • I love it, but I'm probably biased because that's my name. But, honestly, when I meet new people I get complimented on my name all the time. It's also not too common, which I love.

  • Love it! If my nephew's name wasn't Brock I would most likely use it if I were to have a girl.
  • I like it.

  • I love it! I like it way more than Brooklyn. My cousin has a little girl named Brooke and my best friend is naming her DD Brooke (it's her middle name).
  • I don't really like it.  Sorry.
  • I like the name.  I knew a Brooke in high school, and she was really nice and popular.  I am thinking that her actual name was Laura Brooke, and she went by her middle name of Brooke.

  • I like it but I've been surprised by the responses.  To me it is really popular.  I think among my acquaintences it is the most popular girl name right now.  Usually used as a nickname for Brooklyn though.
  • It's my name (brookelyn is a nickname) and I love it. I think it grows well, it's feminine, and I always get compliments on it.

  • I always loved this name and thought I would use it for a daughter some day.  Now that I've gotten older I think it sounds snobby for some reason...not sure why.  It is still a pretty name.
  • I like it b/c it seems like a strong name, and also a feminine name at the same time.  I've known 2 in my life and they were both wonderful women.

  • I LOVE the name Brooke and wished I could name DD that but it does not sounds good with our last name at all:(
  • I like it- strong feminine, pretty. We will likely use Brooke for our MN. Honoring our late grandmothers with the first name.
In final 2 WW after 1st injectible IUI cycle with gonadotropins, Gonal-F. IUI was 9/23. DH will not do another cycle, so this is it for us. History: 6 pregnancies: 5 losses and one DD (born 1-30-2010). Last pregnancy (May 2012) ended in D&E at 9 weeks, testing showed male fetus with an extra 16th chromosone. Recurrent losses thought to be likely due to AMA (I'm 40).
  • I have never met a brooke I like so I dont like this name.

  • I think it's harsh.  Kind of like Gretchen.  I prefer a girl's name to sound feminine.

  • I reallly like the name Brooke.  It is our front runner right now!  The only problem with it is I seem to have a hard time finding a MN that flows.....
