Video Monitor Recs?

Hi, ladies.

I wanted to buy my SIL a video monitor as a Christmas present, but wasn't sure which brands are good, what to look for, etc. 

I went on Amazon and some other sites to read reviews but wanted to ask here as well.

I'd really appreciate the feedback.

I have this and LOVE it...it's cheaper now than when I got it.

I didn't really use it much in the beginning until she slept in her room, which is on the 2nd floor of a 3 story brownstone. It has saved me many trips downstairs in the middle of the night. It has great picture quality, some static (but not that bad), good size for portablity. I've never had issues with interference or seeing neighbor's babies on my channel. The audio is great...I crank it loud when showering to keep an ear out. You get continuous video if its plugged into the wall, when on battery, you get maybe 20 seconds (never timed) of video, then it is off until you hit video again.

Many people I know have it and really like it. HTH!

Glad to hear this! I bought it at BRU because of their black friday sale on it and I won't get to use it for many months still.

Good to know! This is one of the one's we looked at too and was one of our top choices, although we haven' bought anything yet since he won't be in his room for a little while anyways.

We have this one and I LOVE it.  I honestly don't know how people live without a video monitor, but that's because I've become spoiled by having one.  It's so nice to be able to see what she's doing, if she needs to be moved, if her lovey is in her face, if a sound means she's lost her paci or just stirring, etc.  Picture and sound are great.  I like that I can zoom in or pan the video around if needed.  No complaints whatsoever.  Absolutely one of my favorite baby gadgets!

This is also the one we have.  At first I wasn't to keen on the idea of the big one.  I wanted the small portable one, but this one is way better IMO.  I like how big the screen is.  If we are in the living room I just unplug in from the wall in my bedroom.

We love the Summer day/night video monitor. Like pp said, we didn't use it much in the beginning when DS slept in our room. But, since he moved into his nursery, it has saved us countless times from opening the door or turning on the light when he's just been talking in his sleep.

We have the flat screen one also and I love it. It also comes with a smaller portable receiver that you can use around the house but it doesn't have a screen on it.
