Beginning Clomid

I miscarried at 6 weeks in July and since then have been getting negative ovulation tests. My doctor just prescribed Clomid, I should be starting my period this week and will begin taking the Clomid on day 5.

My question is when should I start taking the ovulation tests again? B/c I've read that the Clomid can given false positives. How do I know the result is me or the med?

My doc said 4 days after the last dose, but you should be being monitored. Is your doc doing that? Edited for unfortunate spelling boo boo

Thanks for the info! My doc only gave me basic info, it was over the phone and she just called the prescription in for me. I have kind of been unhappy w/ her for not giving me a chance to ask more questions! She did not mention anything about monitoring me. Most of the time she calls to check up later though, so I will ask her then.

I used the ovulation kits the first time to get pregnant so I know they work and I know how to use them.

I am beginning Round 2 of Clomid this cycle of 100mg a day from CD 5-9. Round 1 was 50mg on CD 5-9. My doctor believes in the OPK's and has told me since I saw her back in July about all this TTC stuff to use them. This month I coughed up the bucks for the digital tests. I was sick of trying to read the damn lines. Dark, not dark, kind of dark, is it dark? You get it....

My doctor told me to start OPKing on CD 10 which makes for 1 day after I stop Clomid. Last month I didn't use the OPKs until the day after my internal u/s. 8 days after my postive (or so I thought) OPK, I got blood drawn. Progesterone was high at 54.

This month I am not being monitored through blood draws and ultrasounds but only because I will be out of town for Christmas when the CDs fall. Will be monitored again for Round 3 if needed.
