I was locked out for 45 mins in 5 degree weather.

So I went out to shovel the sidewalks so DH didn't have to do it when he got home since it would be dark and I did have on my big coat and gloves at least. Yeah, and HIS shoes, which are 6 sizes bigger than mine. Pulled the door closed to the garage, not remembering that you can open it from the inside even if it's LOCKED! Kids are sleeping. Go next door to the psychiatrist place and wait until she's done with the appt, meanwhile running back and forth to check to make sure the kids aren't up. I call DH, she calls the fire dept (since my kids are inside). A few mins later she says "someone is plowing your driveway" and its the landlords son! He has a key and lets me in. PRAISE the Lord.

I text Dh to let him know I got back in and the first thing he says is "did you walk down the street to get the mail while you were locked out?" Men.

Youngest was awake when I got back in, don't know how long.

The landlords son talked to them when they came, it was a guy he knew from something a few  years ago. Him and his parents and brothers lived here for like 50 y rs or something lol so the fire dept knew which house it was. They weren't mad or anything.

So now I have to go try to find something for dinner....so much for prep time!

LOL! I can totally see mine saying the same thing! I'm glad you were able to get back in and everything was ok.

You arent going to believe this but I was locked out of my house this morning too!  It is not 5 degrees here by any stretch but I still sucks.  I had to go next door and use my neighbor's phone to call DH.  I called 4 times, he never answered.  I had to call My Dad and luckily he came and let me in (from all the way across town first thing this morning!).  I am so lucky to have my Dad, but needless to say DH is on my sh!t list.
